This is the extended version of the poem Oh Great Freedom to you I bow, which I had posted earlier. In this poem all the important events of Bhagat Singh's life have been covered. I wrote this poem when I was in class 12th. This poem won in many competitions. I am proud that I wrote this for my hero and my god.
"We live because for us you died,
We laugh because you took all the pain and never cried,
For I am very small to say so but oh great Freedom Fighter to you I bow.
You didn't sleep for several nights getting ready for the deadly fights,
You fought for freedom, you fought with pride,
You showed your valour and the enemy cried,
For I am very small to say so but oh great Freedom Fighter to you I bow.
When the sins of the culprits was on the rise,
You threw the bomb and the fear inside every Indian died,
You didn't run away, you stayed there, shouting the slogans for a future so bright.
With pride and hope for freedom you carried on the fight.
The world saw how brave a man can be,
Ready to die for a better tomorrow he might not even live to see.
For I am very small to say so but oh great Freedom Fighter to you I bow.
You left your home for a noble cause,
You made sacrifices and never paused,
Even the deaf heard what you said,
The blind watched the truth in the light,
You fasted for 63 days demanding for equal rights,
I have never heard of a man like you,
You did what no one else could do,
The culprit said you will be hanged,
Whole nation cried but you were still so brave,
You became immortal the day you died,
You were brave you never cried.
Everyday I think of you,
Give me strength so that one day I too can be like you,
For I am very small to say so but oh great Freedom Fighter to you I bow.
You gave us freedom, you gave us our birth right,
Oh great man because of you the sun now shines bright.
For I am very small to say so but oh great Freedom Fighter to you I bow.
Defeating the bad, defeating the pain, greatest martyrdom you have gained,
You were a hero in every moment and every mode,
They call you brave but I call you God.
For I am very small to say so but oh great Bhagat Singh to you I bow."
We laugh because you took all the pain and never cried,
