"Long ago I had a dream,
Standing beside you how happy I had been.
I walked on the busy road,
Yet it seemed to be a water washed shore.
Holding on your hand,
Walking on the golden sand.
It’s your love that I wanted to save,
My heart beating with the calm waves.

But now the time has changed.
A wall stands tall between us,
May be now our paths will never meet,
Till then I hold on to my dreamy sheet."

A tribute to the brave soldiers of Indian Army who fought for us in 1962 Sino-Indian war. They continue to live in our hearts.

This poem describes how god remembers those brave Indian soldiers.

"I am above all,
In my feet every great man falls.
But was he above me,
Who stood firm in front of my decision,
His bullet hit the enemy with great precision.
Why did I feel so small that day?
Why did he stand in front of the enemy in that way?
He could have run,
He could have escaped,
But he stood firm and bullet he faced.
My eyes were wide open,
His face I gazed.

25 Indian soldiers surrounded by 20,000 Chinese enemies,
Attacking from all sides like Devil Bees,
Bullets came from all sides,
Hitting the chest, making it burst so wide,
But they all were brave, they faced the bullets,
Their blood blessed the earth, falling like water droplets."

A Tribute to the brave hearts of 1962 Sino-Indian war. Salute to the soldiers who fought for us.

"Diwali was near but that night was dark,
High on the altitude where no bird chirped and no dog barked,
I saw a few men guarding the border,
Ready to die for the country even without an order,
He too was there.

But then I raised my eyes and saw the enemy coming,

Hindi-Chini bhai bhai they were humming,
Love was in their words and hatred in their hearts,
They were more than 20,000 all ready to kill the 25 Brave Hearts,
In front of them was a gap so wide,
I saw him once again,
Anger was in his eyes,
He said to his men "Don't stop till every enemy dies."
That was the day when God heard the battle cries.

I am the supreme power.

I am the almighty.

But who was the one who stood firm in front me, defeating the death and redefining bravery?

Was he too great?

Was he greater than me?
Was he the way I was supposed to be?"

A tribute to my Great Grandfather Chaudhary Shishram Dahiya.

"I was very small, may be 3 or 4 years old,
Holding my Grandfathers hand going for a walk,
An old man saw me and shouted very loud "Here comes the Great Grandson of a brave man, boy you should be very proud."

That old man’s face was a very familiar one.

It was wrinkled but as bright as the sun.
He wore white clothes and a turban on his head.
And walked with a stick in his hand.
I asked my Grand Pa who that man was?
He said he was your Great Grandfathers friend, but I didn't knew who my Great Grandfather was.

I just knew his name, (Chaudhary Shishram Dahiya)

And I heard many people say that he was the bravest man that mother earth has ever seen.
I was sad why I didn't knew more about him and how he had been?
I had never seen him, he left earth long before I was born.
I felt bad and my heart was torn.

I told my Grand Pa to tell me more about his father.

He became proud and said no words can describe how great he was.
He lived and died for a cause.
I learned more and more about him as the days passed by.
I was amazed and my happiness went high.
I was happy to be the Great Grandson of such a great soul.
That day my life got its real goal."

"I am the unknown soldier, forgotten and ignored
When once the war is over and peace and quiet assured

We fought for you and the country and now that we are dead
We rest in quiet exclusion, 'cause nothing more is said
Of how we did our duty, that you may sleep in peace
When once the foe was vanquished, and the strife of war had ceased

The country called upon us to do what needs to be done
To oust the vicious enemy and ensure the war was won
Our near and dear ones blessed us and sent us full of pride
To defend the country's honour and some were new-wed brides

We went and fought your battles, most of which were won
Some of us never came back, all were mother's son
Our bodies they do lie there, on hill and vale and plain
Exposed to all the elements of snow and ice and rain

So many were anxious, some still do wait in vain
What can you do to lessen our loved one's grief and pain?
Our last rites were not given, we died a soldier's death
Our eldest sons kept waiting, their hopes could not be met

We went and did our duty, we do not ask for much
Only a place of honour, our loved one's heart to touch
A place where they can think of happy days gone by
To pray on the lonesome morrow and if need be stand and cry

Although we have left earth's orbit and need rest in  peace
Our soul are not past caring, our pain will never cease
Till you and the country's leaders create a haloed space
For a fitting War Memorial, on valour and honour based."

This is the extended version of the poem Oh Great Freedom to you I bow, which I had posted earlier. In this poem all the important events of Bhagat Singh's life have been covered. I wrote this poem when I was in class 12th. This poem won in many competitions. I am proud that I wrote this for my hero and my god.

"We live because for us you died,
We laugh because you took all the pain and never cried,
For I am very small to say so but oh great Freedom Fighter to you I bow.

You didn't sleep for several nights getting ready for the deadly fights,
You fought for freedom, you fought with pride,
You showed your valour and the enemy cried,
For I am very small to say so but oh great Freedom Fighter to you I bow.

When the sins of the culprits was on the rise,
You threw the bomb and the fear inside every Indian died,
You didn't run away, you stayed there, shouting the slogans for a future so bright.
With pride and hope for freedom you carried on the fight.
The world saw how brave a man can be,
Ready to die for a better tomorrow he might not even live to see.
For I am very small to say so but oh great Freedom Fighter to you I bow.

You left your home for a noble cause,
You made sacrifices and never paused,
Even the deaf heard what you said,
The blind watched the truth in the light,
You fasted for 63 days demanding for equal rights,
I have never heard of a man like you,
You did what no one else could do,
The culprit said you will be hanged,
Whole nation cried but you were still so brave,
You became immortal the day you died,
You were brave you never cried.
Everyday I think of you,
Give me strength so that one day I too can be like you,
For I am very small to say so but oh great Freedom Fighter to you I bow.

You gave us freedom, you gave us our birth right,
Oh great man because of you the sun now shines bright.
For I am very small to say so but oh great Freedom Fighter to you I bow.

Defeating the bad, defeating the pain, greatest martyrdom you have gained,
You were a hero in every moment and every mode,
They call you brave but I call you God.
For I am very small to say so but oh great Bhagat Singh to you I bow."
